Both genders must be able to communicate effectively in the English language because they are constantly engaging with passenger that are came from many countries, and in emergency situation, flight attendants are relied upon to give an instruction to passengers. This is the one of the most highly regarded flight attendant requirements. The airlines are looking for people with excellent verbal skills (Listening, comprehending and giving instructions and excellent literacy skills (reading and writing). Beside that for those participants that can speak in any other languages such as Mandarin, Italy, French and so on may be particularly can be useful and this can put them at an advantage. Beside have a good communication skill, to be flight attendants also have to have confidence in dealing with a range of people such as competence in handling difficult situations and the ability to remain calm under pressure and in emergency situations. Also numeracy skills for handling cash, including foreign currency.
